Electrical Equipment, WEEE & Recycling

Business electrical-equipment sales: EaseThat supplies technology equipment to business customers. Electrical and electronic equipment should not be disposed of with general waste.

1. WEEE and recycling

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) regime places obligations on producers and, in some circumstances, distributors of electrical and electronic equipment. The arrangements that apply can depend on the product, whether it is classed as household or non-household EEE, the upstream producer and the contractual arrangements with the business end user.

2. Business equipment supplied through EaseThat

For business orders, contact orders@easethat.co.uk if you need information about the appropriate producer, take-back, recycling or disposal arrangements for equipment supplied through EaseThat. Where a manufacturer or distributor provides a specific recycling route, we may direct you to that scheme.

3. Replacement and disposal projects

For infrastructure refreshes, device rollouts or larger replacement programmes, EaseThat can scope asset collection, secure data-erasure coordination and approved recycling/disposal as a separate service where available.

4. Data-bearing equipment

Business customers are responsible for protecting confidential and personal data on devices being returned, replaced or disposed of unless secure erasure/destruction is expressly included in the agreed service.

5. Producer status

If EaseThat later imports equipment into the UK, sells equipment under its own brand or otherwise becomes an EEE producer, additional producer-registration/reporting obligations may apply and must be reviewed before those activities begin.
